The probate process
What is the PA1P Form?
The PA1P is the probate application form used when the deceased left a valid Will. It is submitted to the Probate Registry as part of the application for a Grant of Probate.
What does the PA1P ask for?
Details about the deceased (full name, date and place of death, last address, domicile), the executor or executors applying, the Will and any codicils, the inheritance tax position, and any executors not joining the application.
What do you send with it?
- The original Will and any codicils
- An official copy of the death certificate
- The IHT421 reference from HMRC
- The £526 application fee for estates over £5,000
