Solicitors wanted to charge me between £2300 and £2700! They made it sound very complicated. I contacted this firm who offered a fixed fee of £500. Their online platform was easy to follow. When I ran into a couple of things I wasn’t sure of I called their helpline. They guided me through those areas and it was all sorted and posted off the same day. Yes. The only additional cost is the £526 Probate Registry fee for estates over £5,000, paid directly to HMCTS. That fee applies whichever route you take. No hourly rates, no percentages, no extras.
No. There is no legal requirement to use a solicitor to apply for probate in England and Wales, and thousands of people apply themselves every year. A solicitor does the same paperwork you would, and charges you for it.
If you can get online, you can use the platform. There is nothing to install and the questions are in plain English. Easier to complete than I initially thought.
Fantastic programme and support. I spoke to Adam a few times and he was extremely helpful. Applying for probate can be challenging despite having reasonable knowledge of the process. I did the probate for my late mother and once I had the codes from HMRC got the probate within 10 days. Best to do the probate process online rather than sending the paper forms. All you have to submit to the probate office is the original will. I would recommend this company highly as all the solicitors would do is to supply them with the relevant paperwork and charge a large sum for doing what I did in 2 hours.

i had talked to a solicitor to do the probate, he wanted 1 to 5 % of the value of the house approx £4,000 to £20,000 pounds then i found youcandoprobate.co.uk online, for £325 so instead of telling the high cost solicitor all the details he needed to know, i just wrote them same details on the online forms, and any questions i had were only a phone call away and each question was answered. as you go through the online forms every thing is worked out for you and you print the forms off at the end and send them off. this as an excellent service and have no hesitation in recommending them, they are brilliant
