The easy and affordable way to apply for probate

YCDP is excellent. As an 80 year old with very basic and fairly rubbish IT skills I was a bit apprehensive but found the process straight forward and easy to understand. I only wish I’d found this service earlier., it has been invaluable. It made what felt a daunting task manageable in a time of great stress and upset. The phone support was also brilliant. I would highly recommend.

YCDP really took the stress (as well as quite a lot of admin) out of the Probate application process. Very simple to follow, with clear instructions, and easy-to-follow User Guide. Thorough prompting ensures that you complete everything necessary at each stage before being allowed to print the final Probate application form. I only had to call for support once and my question was dealt with quickly and efficiently.

What a brilliant service, a simple money saver. Thoroughly recommended to do Probate yourself. Very well supported by Probate experts on the end of the telephone. I phoned 4 times and nothing was to much trouble. Reasonably simple forms to download and fill in. You can at any point return to the start and edit anything. Even if you make a total hash of it you can start again as many times as you like. It collates all the information you enter into the forms and then when you print it out it is in a recognised format for the HMCTS people. If you are unsure just phone the help line and talk to an expert, if they bare busy they will call you back. I applied for Probate on 29th April, on 12 May I had conformation that Probate had been granted and I would receive my Grant Of Probate paperwork within 10 working days. You cant beat that, well worth the £499.

I found this service was very easy to use and straightforward. I have given it a 5 star rating and I would recommend it. I telephoned the helpline twice and was extremely happy with the help/guidence I received.

If you want your Probate to come through quickly and efficiently then I cannot recommend this company more highly. We had an appointment with a Solicitor for 5th March 2025 and at a cost of £1,503 and was told it would take 12 weeks or more. I searched the internet for an online Probate Company and came across YouCanDoProbate. Looked at the reviews and saw that someone had put that you don’t pay only the £399 fee – they said there were hidden costs. So read through everything and noted that you also have to send a cheque for £300 for the Courts to gain the Probate. I did phone them to make sure there were no other costs involved and was told that no this was everything charged – no “hidden” costs at all. So on 19th February I sent off all the paperwork together with the cheque for the Courts. Just over a week later I received an email from Gov.uk to say they were dealing with the probate and that it could take up to 12 weeks. A couple of days later I received an email to say Probate had been granted and I would receive it within 10 days – on 5th March the Probate arrived through the post. So it only took 2 weeks from beginning to end. I would recommend this website and if you have any questions they are more than helpful. I don’t know why Solicitors charge such outrageous fees – this was half what was quoted and we had the Probate in our hands before the actual appointment with the Solicitor. I cannot thank you enough for making what is a really difficult time in any families life a straightforward and easy application.

I seriously cannot believe the money I have saved by doing probate myself. If there was a question I didn’t understand I requested a call back, which I received quickly and was able to chat to the advisor who explained so that I was able to understand. Definitely recommend

My experience of using the YouCanDoProbate programme has been good and certainly it is a well put together one. Firstly it specified the information which would be required by the Probate Office so that I could save time when using the programme. It then went on with what is basically a copy of the Government sheets so that the information could be added. Adding the information required was not as easy as it would seem.This was not a fault of the programme, but rather the way the person who had designed the sheets for the Government had expressed their requirements. On several occasions I was a bit stuck and and sent a message to YCDP requesting assistance. I found that they could not have been more helpful and I would like to thank both Adam and Tom for their assistance. They both answered my queries and made it clear that they would spent as much time as was necessary in doing so, very much a PLUS point in this day and age where many companies cannot get away fast enough. They would contact me either by phone or email, whichever I preferred. Another thing that I particularly liked was that the programme would not allow me to tick the box as finished in error, until each section it was complete. By doing so it meant that the Probate office should not have to return it as incomplete. The current programme is designed to cater for a maximum nett figure of £325,000 before Inheritance tax is payable. There are circumstances where there is only one son or daughter who will inherit and the Government will allow up to a nett figure of £500,000 before Inheritance Tax is due, and I was informed that they are working on an amendment to the programme to allow for this. I can fully recommend this programme which is considerably cheaper than putting it in the hands of a Probate Specialist.

I have rated this 5 star because I thought the process of data input was logical and made it very easy for a first time probate. I’m not an expert and I’m not fully aware of all the features, I would have liked the ability to have a data input set to have in case the probate office raised questions.

You Can Do Probate has saved me thousands of pounds. The system is incredibly easy to use. You do need to do your research so that you can answer the questions honestly and accurately, but everything you need is either included in the guidance in the system itself or readily available on the gov.uk website. The system also does a “sanity check” before you commit to paying for the license, to check that the system is suitable for your specific needs. So, you know before you commit whether the system is suitable for your specific circumstances. I submitted the forms prepared for me by You Can Do Probate and received my grant of probate 7 weeks later. Very happy.
